When you create your trade account on Builderscrack, we will ask you to verify your business and identity. This is part of the due diligence our team conducts to ensure the business details provided and identity of the account operator align.
Once you've created your account, we will direct you to a Verification page, on which you'll upload the required documents.
What do I need to provide to verify my account?
1. Your NZBN
Please supply your New Zealand Business Number (NZBN). This is the 13-digit number on your NZ business record. You can search for your number here. If you are a Sole Trader and you haven’t registered for a NZBN, you will need to do that first.
Please note, your business info in the NZBN Register needs to be public in order for us to verify that it's your record.
2. Identification
Please supply a FULL NZ Driver Licence (front and back) of one of the company directors or the sole trader, as named on your Builderscrack account and the NZBN Register.
Note, we do not accept variations such as a limited, learner, restricted or international driver licence. Passports and firearms licences are also not accepted.
3. Proof of address
If you’re a Sole Trader, we also require proof of address that meets the below requirements:
✔ One of the accepted document types:
- Bank statement
- Government department/agency letter, e.g. Inland Revenue, ACC, NZTA.
- Utility bill, e.g. rates, internet, power.
✔ Date of issue within the last 3 months.
✔ Clearly shows your full name and physical address.
Note, images of envelopes are not accepted, but a PDF or full screenshot of an electronic statement is acceptable.
