Release date: January 2026
What’s changed?
We’ve removed the feature that allowed tradespeople to send a short introductory note when expressing interest in a homeowner’s job. With this change, we've added two new optional profile fields to let prospective clients know whether you offer free quotes, and whether you charge for a callout.
Why this change is good for tradies
Removing intro notes reduces the amount of work required each time you chase a job. Instead of rewriting similar messages for every lead, your profile now does the talking - once, in one place.
Our data showed that intro notes weren’t being used to their full potential and often distracted homeowners from viewing your profile - which is the best first impression you can make.
We want to make it faster and easier for you to express interest, while giving homeowners a single, consistent place to review your credentials, services, and reviews.
Why profiles matter more
Intro notes often duplicated information already available in profiles and drew attention away from them. By removing this step, we’re encouraging homeowners to focus on the profiles you’ve put time and effort into, supporting better-quality connections and due diligence.
What should I do now?
Put your effort into strengthening your profile. Almost everything that previously appeared in an intro note belongs there, and it’s where homeowners should be looking when deciding who to connect with.
What else is new?
We've just released some new (optional) profile fields, including:
Whether you offer free quotes
Whether you charge a callout fee - and the option to specify what your callout fee is.
In summary
Intro notes have been removed to streamline the connection process and reduce effort for tradespeople. A strong profile is the primary way to stand out - invest your time there.
