When can a homeowner leave a review?
Once connected through a job, a homeowner/job poster can review a tradesperson at any point in their interaction from the'Review' tab on the job. After that, a review can be edited by the homeowner for 6 months after being written, to allow for cases where outcomes change or issues get resolved.
For a Google or Open review, the review can be posted at any time.
When are reviews published?
All reviews on Builderscrack (excluding Google reviews) are ‘pending’ for 7 days from the time they are placed before becoming visible to the public, and you have the opportunity to respond within this timeframe. If you leave a public response, the review will be published immediately.
What if the job is complete but the homeowner hasn't reviewed me?
Once a job is marked as Won / Hired in your 'Active Jobs' list, you can click the 'Request review' button next to it to send the homeowner an email inviting them to leave feedback. We send automatic reminders too, but you can give them an extra nudge once per job.
Having verified reviews from real jobs on your profile is one of the strongest trust signals for homeowners choosing a tradie, so it's worth reaching out while the work is still fresh in their mind.
What can a homeowner review me for?
For any completed job, whether through Builderscrack or outside of the platform, the review form for clients to fill in is the same. A homeowner / client is asked to provide ratings out of 5 for:
- Work (was the result of good quality?)
- Cost (did they stick to the quote?)
- Schedule (was the job completed on time?)
- Communications (how well did the tradesperson communicate?)
We also ask them to confirm who did the work and the final job cost (but this is kept private).
Communications Review
We offer homeowners the opportunity to review tradespeople based on their responsiveness and professionalism when connected through Builderscrack – even if the tradesperson was not hired for the job in the end. If you’ve interacted on a job, then they can review you, so it’s important to remain professional in all your interactions.
The communications review is very simple; the homeowner provides one score out of 5 just for the communications element, plus additional comments if they wish.
