What is a safe sender list?

Email clients, which you use to send and receive emails, filter incoming messages and can often move legitimate messages into Spam or Junk folders, or tabs - making it difficult to locate important messages.

By adding an email address to a safe sender list, you’re telling the email client you know and trust the sender - it’s a handy hack to ensure your favourite emails are delivered to your inbox.

How to add an email to a safe sender list

We’ve compiled a list of the 11 most popular web clients in New Zealand, with simple instructions on how to add the Builderscrack email address to your safe sender list.

Mail (Apple OS X and iOS devices)

Ensure important emails reach you. Mail on Apple OSX and iOS devices have a similar process for adding senders to Contacts. To add Builderscrack to the Mail safe sender list, follow one of the steps below.

Mail - Apple iOS mobile devices

Add an email address to Contacts in Apple iOS Mail from an email

• Open the Builderscrack email message within Apple Mail.
• Tap on the senders From or Reply-to name i.e. Builderscrack name and email address.

• Tap Create New Contact from the menu.

• In the New Contact dialogue box, one email address will appear. Builderscrack sends emails from two different email addresses - ensure both email addresses are added to the contact details. Tap Add email.
• Copy and paste the remaining email addresses:
  [e-mail] or
  [e-mail]
• Tap Done to save.

Remove an email address from Apple iOS Mail Junk folder
Teach Apple Mail's filter to allow all future messages:

• On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7 or later, open the Junk folder, select and open the message.
• Tap the folder icon at the bottom.
• Tap Inbox to move the message.

Microsoft Outlook

(Outlook for Microsoft 365, Express, Outlook 2019, 2016, Outlook 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003)

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Microsoft safe sender list, follow one of the steps below.

Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 and Express

Add the domain name to safe sender list

• Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• On the Tools menu bar, click Actions.
• Click Junk E-mail from the menu.
• Select Add Sender’s Domain to Safe Senders List.
• Click OK on dialogue box.

Add an email address to safe sender list

• Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• On the Tools menu bar, click Actions.
• Click Junk E-mail from the menu.
• Select Add Sender to Safe Senders List.
• Click OK on dialogue box.

Microsoft Outlook 2010, 2013 and Office 365, 2016 and later

Add a domain name and email address to safe sender list

• Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• Copy the Builderscrack email address.
• Go to the Home tab.
• Click the Junk drop-down button.
• Choose Junk E-Mail Options from the drop-down list.
• Go to the Safe Senders tab.
• Click Add button.
• In the Add address or domain input field, paste the Builderscrack email address plus @builderscrack.co.nz domain, click OK.
• Click Apply (Office 365 only).

Outlook.com

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Outlook.com safe sender list, follow one of the steps below.

Add to safe sender list in Outlook.com from an email

• Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• Click the three horizontal dots to the right of the sender email address.
• From the drop down menu, select Add to Safe senders.
• Click OK.

Add to safe senders list from alert message

• When you open an email, an alert message will appear and display ‘Parts of this message have been blocked for your safety’.
• Click the link I trust [e-mail]. Always show content.

Remove email address from Outlook.com Junk folder
Mark a received email as Not Junk. Do this by:

• Opening the Junk folder, Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• Click Not Junk.

Gmail (webmail and mobile)

Ensure you receive important emails in the Primary tab of your inbox. Add Builderscrack to the Gmail safe sender list, follow one of the steps below.

Add an email address direct to Gmail Contacts

• Go to your Contacts (https://contacts.google.com/).

• Click on Create contact on the top left.

• Select Create multiple contacts.

• Copy these two addresses:
  Builderscrack <[e-mail]>,
  Jeremy from Builderscrack <[e-mail]>
• In the dialogue box Paste the above addresses.
• Click Create.

Add an email address to Google Contacts from an email in your Gmail inbox

• Select and open the Builderscrack email message.
• Under the email name and address, click on the Show details drop down arrow.

• In the dialogue box, hover over the Builderscrack name/address on either the from or reply-to.
• On the dialogue box, click Add to Contacts.

• Follow the above steps for both email addresses.

Get an email to appear in Gmails Primary tab

• Drag-and-drop the Builderscrack email message from the tab it’s currently filed under, to the Primary tab.
• A message alert will appear - Conversation moved to Primary. Do this for all future messages from [e-mail]? Select Yes.
  Builderscrack sends email from two different email addresses.
• Follow these steps for both email addresses as you receive them.

Move an email from Gmail's Spam folder

If the Builderscrack email message has gone into Gmail’s Spam:

• On your computer, on the left side panel, click More.
• On a mobile, tap the top left menu button.
• Click/tap Spam from the menu.
• Select and open the Builderscrack email message. At the top of the email, an alert message will appear and display ‘Why is this message in spam? It is similar to messages that were identified as spam in the past’. Click Report as not spam.

Yahoo! Mail

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Yahoo! Mail safe sender list, follow one of the steps below.

Add an email addresses direct to Yahoo! Mail Contacts

• In Yahoo Mail, click the address book icon in the right-side pane.

• Click Add a new contact

• Fill in the contact details.
  • Name: Builderscrack
  • Email: [e-mail]
• Click Add email address.
• Add the next email address [e-mail] into the email input field.
• Click Save.

Add an email address to contacts from an email

From the inbox

• Right click on the email, the contacts pane will open on the right hand side.

• Add contact details.
  • First name: Builderscrack.
    Email address, ensure both email addresses are added to the contact details.

From within the email

• Open the Builderscrack email message.
• Hover over the From email address.
• Click Add to contacts.
• Builderscrack uses two email addresses for sending emails. Click Add email address and include the remaining email.

• Click Save.

Android (Default client)

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Android safe sender list, follow the steps below.

On android devices:

• Open the Builderscrack email message.
• Touch the picture of the sender that shows before the message.
• Tap Add to Contacts.

Windows Live Desktop

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Windows Live Desktop safe sender list, follow the steps below.

• Open Builderscrack email within Windows live Desktop.
• An alert will appear in the preview pane and will display Some images in this message are not shown.
• Click Add to safe sender’s list.

Xtra Mail

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to Xtra Mail safe sender list, follow the steps below:

• Log into your Xtra Mail account.
• On the menu bar, click address book.
• Contacts will be displayed, click New and select Add contact from the drop down menu.

• Fill in the details on the create contact page
  • Company: Builderscrack
  • Email 1: [e-mail]
  • Email 2 [e-mail]
• Click Save.

AOL Web Mail

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the AOL safe sender list, follow one of the steps below:

Add an email address to AOL Web mail contacts

• Open the Builderscrack email message within AOL web mail.
• In the preview pane of the opened email, under the subject line click on the senders.
• From name i.e. Builderscrack name and email address.
• Click Add Contact from the drop down menu.
• Click Add Contact within the dialogue box.

Add AOL webmail contact

• With AOL web mail interface, select Contacts in the left panel.
• Above contact list, (hover to display) click New Contact.
• Copy and paste Builderscrack details to New Contact.
  • First name: Builderscrack
  • Email 1: [e-mail]
• Click Another and add second email.
  • Email 2: [e-mail]
• Click Add Contact to save.

Mark a received email message as Not Spam.

• Open the Spam folder and click the Builderscrack email message.
• Click the Not Spam button that appears at the top.
• Click Show Details to display email address, select Add Contact from the drop down menu.

AOL whitelist

• Add email to your safe senders list by managing your spam settings:
• In the lower right side your inbox, click Spam Controls.
• In the dialogue box, select Mail & Spam Controls.
• Click Customer Sender List, then select Allow email from.
• Input the Builderscrack email addresses.
  • [e-mail]
  • [e-mail]
• Click Save.

Samsung Mail

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Samsung Mail safe sender list, follow the steps below.

Remove an email address from Samsung Mail Spam addresses folder

• From the Samsung Mail app, tap the Menu icon.
• Tap Settings cog.
• Then tap Spam addresses from the menu.
• To remove an address tap Options icon, the three vertical dots.
• Tap Remove.
• Select the addresses you want to remove from Spam and then top right, tap Remove.

Thunderbird

Ensure important emails reach you. To add Builderscrack to the Thunderbird safe sender list, follow the steps below.

Add to Thunderbird Address book from an email
Open the Builderscrack email message

• At the top of the email message, click on the senders From name i.e. Builderscrack name and email address.
• In the menu, click Add to address book.
  • If contact sheet appears:
    • Edit details, click OK.
  • If no contact sheet appears:
    • Click on the senders From name again, Builderscrack name and email address.
    • In the menu, click Edit Contact.
    • Edit details, click Done.

Remove an email from Thunderbird Junk folder
Thunderbirds spam filters need to be trained and told what is not junk.

• Mark any emails that find their way into the Junk folder by clicking Not Junk.
