(If this isn't you, check out our Tradespeople FAQs)
Tradespeople will provide you with either a quote or job cost through Builderscrack. You can review, query, accept or decline the quote or cost. By accepting the quote or cost you are confirming that tradesperson will complete the job, and our invoice to the tradesperson is issued at this point.
What is a job cost?
A job cost is a fixed price for a job. It would be more likely to be a straight forward job which the tradesperson feels confident won’t uncover any additional tasks. Check with the tradesperson if the cost is including or excluding GST.
What is a job quote?
A quote is a set price for a job, based on the tradesperson’s assessment of what is required. If you receive a quote which lacks a detailed breakdown of the tasks and the costs for each task, don’t be afraid to ask them to break it down more clearly.
If the tradesperson commences work and discovers additional tasks or materials will be required to complete the job, they must present you with a revised quote to approve.
